Helped me learn a lot, but nubes might have issues

I found this book very helpful. After hearing about how effective the previous versions were, I was really excited to try the new edition! I just hope now that the rest of the series will be remade soon.
Over all, the book was structured very well. Information was presented clearly,simply, and accurately. Sometimes, however, explanation of the grammar points were WAY too simple- which, in several instances, would have certainly been misleading to a beginning learner with no previous knowledge of Korean. Fortunately, I dove into this book having already studied Korean for 6 months so I already had a decent understanding of the language to know that some explanations were lacking (I checked things with my Korean friends too).
For me, this book basically served as an excellent way to review what I had learned and to go beyond with new material. I definitely benefited from the abundant vocabulary provided- although I would have preferred it to be presented using pictures along with the definitions, but that's just me. Also a great help were the "pronunciation" tips at the bottom of pages which had confusing-to-pronounce vocab words.
One noteworthy problem I had was that, sometimes, the directions for the writing exercises were so unclear that I had absolutely no idea about what to write in the blanks. Sometimes what the questions were asking was completely unrelated to the grammar that was presented in the lesson. Both of these issues combined, however, didnt occur more than 4 times, so it didn't bother me too much.
This book is great and I highly recommend it, however it contents are will be the most useful to one who already understands the basics of Korean, not a complete beginner, which is unfortunate to say because the hangul learning/writing lessons and super basic conversation and grammar lessons in the beginning of the book are excellent for those with no former knowledge of the language. The more complex grammar in the middle and towards the end are a totally different story.

Korean Through English

Over the past years I have had the pleasure of working in Korea at some remote locations where English is not used. Therefore to survive I purchased a number of Korean language books, cassettes and CD's. In short they were either so americanised even the Koreans in Korea could not understand the so called Korean learning recordings. To add more frustration the material was not of a general use as the course summary said.
Guided by a Korean friend I purchase the "Korean Through English" books with Tapes and CD's. Without assistance I studied books 1 & 2 and worked the CD's. The literature is easy and clear to follow, I have completed book 1 and started book 2 (set of 3). The books learning's are used daily in Korea, when I use my Korean in Korea the locals understand me and the learning's were of such a nature that it was very useful. What is nice, as the locals can understand my intent they are more than willing to help me with my pronunciation.
