I would prefer the lessons be grouped together. The scale studies, articulation exercizes and melodic interpretation studies are in different areas so you need to jump around, but it is a minor inconvenience. Many of the excersizes have no brakes were a breath can be taken. As one instructor suggested, cheat, leave a note out and get a breath.

This is the book I learned on over 40 years ago. I recently found Vol 1 among my old sheet music, but Vol 2 was missing, so I ordered it. I start my daily practice by going through the scales and exercises in these books. These books are still valid. I have my student on the beginning book of this series.

Rubank Advanced Method

If you have used the first volume of Rubank Advanced Method Saxophone, then you know what the second would seem like. Everything in this book has more scale practice, duets, articulation practice, fingering practices, etc. Rubank's Advanced Method did a great job putting this book together.
