Not for beginners and requires a lot of work from the reader

I'm still in the process of reading it so obviously I'll need to post an update when I either finish or give up. This is nowhere near well written and the author seems to jump around and assume the reader already has a deep understanding of chef. This is my second chef book, I've done multiple training sessions, and I'm responsible for maintaining chef and writing recipes for my production environment. I bought this book to give me a deep dive into chef. I think that's what it's providing but it's hard to tell. The author jumps around rapidly and continually references portions of the product that he hasn't covered yet.

I'm still holding out hope that decyphering the authors intent will get me to a much deeper understanding of chef but I haven't found it helpful so far. This is definitely not for beginners. That all being said the author clearly understands chef and I've already come across multiple explanations that gave me insight into aspects of chef that I didn't understand before. It's just really frustrating trying to dig them out of the poorly written and scattered text.

The purpose of this book is to tell the whole story of how the fashion business works, in sequential order from concept to consumer. The fashion business is a series of buying supplies, creating and developing a new product, and marketing the product. The fashion business includes all the processes involved with producing raw materials, apparel, and accessories and the retail stores that sell fashion merchandise to the public. It is important for executives in the fashion industry to know how all of these processes interrelate.

Fashion designers and merchandisers who work for manufacturers must work with textile producers to develop fabrics that they need for their apparel and accessories. Manufacturers must also understand the importance of selling on the retail level. Retail fashion buyers should understand how garments and accessories are designed so that they can be creative merchandisers and make wise buying decisions. They may also have to develop products and source production themselves for private-label merchandise.

Exceptional information from a first rate source. Quotes biblical references to compare to his information of the culture. It was very helpful to read the measurements and path to certain locations mentioned in the Bible, but no specifics. Fascinating-a must have for serious Bible readers.

A historical document

Even though this book was intended to be a tourist guide, it can now be considered a historical document. First written in 1890 and updated several times, the last being in 1935, the book describes the famous Lebanese city of Baalbek during that period.
Michel Alouf, a Greek Catholic from Baalbek, was also a skilled archeologist whose work is one of a kind. More important than the archeological description of the Baalbek ruins, is the rare description of the city of Baalbek during the early twentieth century. One would be surprised to learn that this city, today predominantly inhabited by Shiites, once had a considerable Christian minority.
Alouf also did his best in trying to trace the origins of the name of Baalbek, known as Heliopolis to the Greeks and Romans. He summarizes historic sources that mention the city and describe it.
Today on bookstore shelves, one cannot find such works on such a historically remarkable place. All works on Baalbek focus on the political situation of the city ever since it was dominated by the Hezbollah group. However, this book describes the topography, architecture and socioeconomic situation of Baalbek and its surrounding villages at the time, albeit briefly. A reader cannot but notice how Baalbek, now a hotbed of Shiite radicals, was once a marvelous work of architecture, art and science.

The tales of Samuel in Hell as well as the two secrets it revealed are fascinating. I love the battles of good and evil through the teenagers and the fast-paced action of the story. I'm looking forward to the fourth book and learning more about Angeline, Clara and Danny.
